The community works page says non-violent offenders may be assigned to agencies such as the County Recycling Center, County Road Department, County Animal Shelter, Maple Grove Cemetery, Roadside Litter Program, Parks and Recreation, County Construction and Maintenance, and Camp Nelson Heritage Park. The roadside litter program uses state grant funding and part-time deputies to support crews on county roads seven days a week.
